ICSE (Class X):

The subjects are divided into three groups in which compulsory subjects and optional subjects has included. The groups are mentioned below in table. Interested candidates should have a look once on the following table:

  • Group – I includes only compulsory subjects which have to be opt by each and every students of class 10th.
  • From Group – II, students can only select two or three subjects according to their choice.
  • Students have choice in Group – III, they can select only one subject from above given section of group – III.

Students of ICSE board should know marking scheme also by which they can prepare according to marks divided to each and every group. The marking pattern is defined below in the table.

I.C.S.E Examination Pattern:

Subject – English

  • The time limit will be allotted of 2 hours to the students.
  • The question paper of English will consists 4 broad sections.
  • First section will be of composition section of 450 to 500 words, second is a letter,third is an unseen passage and related questions and fourth would be a question to test your grammar.
  • Students will have a choice for attempt essay and letter.
  • The sections will be:
  • Section A – (2 questions from As You Like It)
  • Section – B (2 questions from Golden Lyre)
  • Section – C (2 questions from Treasure Trove Of short stories)
  • Section – D contains an essay type question that is most scoring in I.C.S.E.
  • Students have to be attempt only 5 questions from all, each question carry 16 marks.

Subject – Maths

  • The examination will be held of 2 and1/2 hours.
  • The question paper will includes 2 sections that is
  • Section – A ( 4 questions of 10 marks each = 40 marks)
  • Section – B ( 7 questions out of which 4 are to be solved for obtaining 40 marks)

Subject – Hindi

  • The time limit has been fixed for examination of 3 hours.
  • First section will be from Hindi language which has 3 major parts.
  • Essay of around 250 words
  • Letter
  • Unseen passage
  • Second section will be consist questions from Hindi literature from which you have to answer at least 4 questions.

Subject – Science

  • Physics:

The question paper will be of 1.5 hours.

  • There will be two sections that is section A & B.
  • Section – A –  Short Compulsory Questions Worth 40 Marks
  • Section – B –  6 Questions Out Of Which Any 4 Are To Be Solved Worth 40 Marks.
  • Chemistry:

The question paper will be of 1.5 hours.

  • Now hit on “ICSC (class – X)” tab available at the top of the home page of Council For The Indian School Certificate Examinations.
  • Select “Regulations & Syllabuses” link.
  • This will move you to the next page where you have to hit on “Regulations and Syllabuses 2018” link which is present at the last of the page in the section of “Regulations And Syllabuses – ISC”.
  • ICSE (Class X)  Syllabus will be displayed on your screen, candidates need to read complete syllabus.
  • After that, individuals should download it by follow a suitable tab.
  • Candidates should take a print out copy also or can save a soft copy in computer for further use.
